The students who are keen in entering the college for further studies and cannot arrange for funds have two choices 1) Scholarship program and 2) the student loans. The student can opt for either of the two.

The difference between the two is that the scholarship is awarded to the student and the students do not have to repay the same. Whereas, the loan amount and the interest charged on it needs to be refunded back to the college or bank from where they have taken. Looking above, the scholarship program is less burdensome for the parents but both have the disadvantages and advantages and before applying for either let us consider them.
The scholarship allows the student to study free all his college years. Though many of the scholarship programs are open to student every year and it depends on the financial need of the students.

If you are unable to get the scholarship program that does not mean you are less intelligent. The scholarship programs available are of different kind they can be for the students who are intelligent and have acquired higher grades and are expected to acquire the same in future. Or they can be for students who excel in different fields like sports or any other subject like Maths, sciences etc.

The talent also can secure you a scholarship your need not require high grades but average grades can also entitle you for a scholarship programs. The minority community in a particular society may also be offered scholarship which will help them grow at par with the other students. The scholarship program can be offered by some religious organization, or communities for the betterment of their people. However, if you are not eligible for any such scholarship program you have the option of Student loan.

The student loan is offered to the student for the sole purpose of study and the interest applied on these loans is much less than the actual market rate. This enables the student to get loans at a good interest rate.

The loan will give you the advantage of being free from any pressures which the scholarship student feels. The scholarship student needs to regularly either have good grades or perform in the field. The student loan is given only for the period of time you are in college and the moment you are graduated you need to pay the sum in total i.e. Interest plus the loan amount. This becomes a little difficult as you can tide over only when you get your first job which may not be easy on you or your parents.

In both the student loan and scholarship program the main point that you are getting the chance to finish your studies without any problem and you are ready for the world with a degree in hand.

The parents can be proud and you will have many job opportunities waiting for you if you are a graduate.
